Mar Menor
Not far from our place of business is the Mar Menor, or "smaller sea". It is a huge lagoon with salt water, which became famous mainly for its rich occurrence of healing mud. The Mar Menor looks more like a large pond. This lagoon with an area of 170 km2 is separated from the Mediterranean Sea by a narrow strip of land (ranging from 500 to 1500 m in width). The Mar Menor is often called the Spanish Dead Sea due to its high content of salt and minerals as well as healing mud.
